CO2 concentrations in office buildings typically range from 350 to 2,500 ppm ( Seppänen et al.,. 1999). At concentrations occurring in most indoor environments ,

This is more than what had happened naturally over a 20,000 year period (from the Last Glacial Maximum to 1850, from 185 ppm to 280 ppm). Data are reported as a dry air mole fraction defined as the number of molecules of carbon dioxide divided by the number of all molecules in air, including CO 2 itself, after water vapor has been removed. The mole fraction is expressed as parts per million (ppm). Example: 0.000400 is expressed as 400 ppm. This is more than what had happened naturally over a 20,000 year period (from the Last Glacial Maximum to 1850, from 185 ppm to 280 ppm). The time series below shows global distribution and variation of the concentration of mid-tropospheric carbon dioxide in parts per million (ppm). The global surface average for carbon dioxide (CO 2), calculated from measurements collected at NOAA’s remote sampling locations, was 412.5 parts per million (ppm) in 2020, rising by 2.6 ppm during the year.

I live in a large apartment complex in the D.C. area that was built 7 years ago. I have sampled the air inside of my apartment in various rooms many times and always observe levels of CO2 above 2000 ppm. Samples taken outside the building are below 400 ppm. Given this information I suspect that building is not adequately vented.
